Postgraduate
In the master’s program, 3-5 new students join each of the 10 studios of differing fields each year and deepen their chosen field of specialty through research and projects conducted in close liaison with the studio instructor. Studios within the Department of Design cooperate on various social projects as well as working with studios in other departments on joint projects enabling students to hone their own specialty while maintaining an interdisciplinary base of research. The latter doctorate program focuses on deepening high level design research through creative projects and theory construction with the goal of obtaining a Ph.D. Studio instructors provide support for creative projects and doctoral dissertation, however students can also receive advice from instructors in other departments. We actively encourage presenting research to the public, conducting projects with outside parties and studying abroad to deepen and verify the originality of research.
